FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the per-site domain list work?

When you set ProxySnap to 'Sites' mode, the extension builds a Proxy Auto-Configuration (PAC) script locally. It checks if the host matching rule is met when loading a webpage. If the domain is in your list, it routes the traffic through the selected active proxy. Otherwise, it bypasses it.

What does the context menu shortcut do?

Instead of manually copying and pasting domain URLs into the settings panel, you can right-click on any webpage. A context menu item 'ProxySnap: Route this site through proxy' allows you to add the domain to your per-site routing rules instantly.

Does ProxySnap support proxies with login authentication?

Yes. The extension natively handles proxy authorization requests. When you enter a username and password in a profile, the background worker interceptor provides these details synchronously during the browser's proxy connection handshake.

Where is my proxy list data saved?

All proxy profile records, credentials, and domain lists are stored locally on your device inside Google Chrome's secure local extension storage sandbox. We do not run external collection servers, so your configurations are completely private.
