Privacy Policy
Obsidian AdBlocker (the “Extension”) is built on a zero-data-collection model. This Privacy Policy explains what the Extension does and does not do with your information. In short: all filtering happens locally on your device, and no browsing data ever leaves your browser.
1. No Data Collection
The Extension does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. There is no account, no login, no telemetry, and no analytics. We do not know which sites you visit, and we never receive your browsing history.
2. Local Filtering Only
Ad and tracker blocking is performed entirely on your device using Chrome's built-in declarativeNetRequest engine and locally stored filter lists (such as EasyList and RuAdList). Cookie-banner dismissal runs locally in your browser. No request content is sent to us or any third party for processing.
3. Local Settings Storage
Your preferences — whitelisted sites, enabled filter categories, and custom element-picker rules — are saved locally in your browser's extension storage. This data stays on your device and is not synced to any external server by us.
4. Permissions
The Extension requests only the permissions required to block ads and banners across the sites you visit. These permissions are used solely for local filtering and never to observe or export your activity.
5. Third-Party Filter Lists
The Extension uses open-source filter data such as EasyList. It is not affiliated with the EasyList project or Adblock Plus. Filter lists are used locally and contain no personal information about you.
